Boiler FAQ's

Frequently asked questions from homeowners like you, and answers from our residential heating experts, all in one convenient place!

Some “combi” boilers can heat hot water for your home, as well as provide heat. Other boiler systems can use an external water tank called an indirect water heater  to heat and store hot water for showers, etc.

A wide range of factors can affect a boiler’s effectiveness, efficiency, cost, and lifetime. We recommend working with a professional contractor (Contact a ViPRO contractor here) who can help you select the best boiler based on your home’s size, radiators, heat loss, and a range of other factors.

There can be several choices that will work for your home, however, we recommend working with a qualified ViPRO contractor to select the best system for you and your home’s unique needs.

A typical boiler’s lifetime is expected to be 15-20 years. However, things vary, and your boiler may last longer if well maintained, less if it is ignored. Once repairs are needed more frequently, or if they become increasingly expensive, then a replacement boiler may save you money in the long run. An added benefit is that new boilers are almost guaranteed to be much more efficient than older systems.

Your boiler will automatically be registered based on its serial number. Once your contractor purchases the system, it goes into our database and is automatically set up for the full warranty.
